The Minnesota Office of Justice Programs is pleased to announce Track One of the Minnesota Victim Assistance Academy will be offered this fall, and applications are now being accepted!
The Minnesota Victim Assistance (MNVAA) is a series of comprehensive, academically based trainings to build the capacity of victim assistance providers, victim advocates, criminal justice professionals, law enforcement, and other professionals who work with victims of crime.
2016 Training Dates:
The 2016 Academy will kick off with a welcome reception/registration on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Registration opens at 3:30 p.m. and the reception will start at 5:30 p.m. The classroom instruction will be held October 26, 27, and a half day on October 28th and then again on November 16,17 and a half day on November 18th, 2016. The location has yet to be determined as it is in the State's RFP bidding process, yet will be in the greater metro.
Applications for the 2016 Academy will be accepted until October 7, 2016. The fee is $175 and covers all expenses with the exception of dinner each night. Please complete the application form and submit it electronically to Joann Jones joann.jones@state.mn.us

The HR symposium will include breakout sessions, extended networking activities and key issues such as: Diversity and Inclusion Strategies, Police and Community Relations, Civic Engagement, Voting rights, Disability and Employment, Recent U.S. Supreme Court Decisions, Equal Pay and Wage Equity, Pregnancy Accommodations, and MDHR Case Studies in Enforcement.

Participants: Approximately 130 participants (90 Juveniles and 40 Adults)
Providers are asked to bring brochures and information about their programs and other visual aids they may have related to their program. No giveaways please. Tables will be available in Centennial Hall for your use.
You must have your Driver’s License with you the day of the Transitions Fair to gain access to the facility. A Lunch and program will be provided for all representatives and a tour of the facility will be provided for those that are interested. If you would like to participate in our Transitions Resource Fair, please complete and return the attached Registration form as soon as possible, with a deadline of August 26th, 2016.

Pathways Navigator – Case Manager for CEP
Position Overview: This position is responsible for developing and navigating individual case plans for AccessAbility’s transition from jail to community reentry program, Career and Educational Pathways (CEP). Duties require close coordination, collaboration, relationship building, tracking and monitoring of participants to ensure compliance with their ICP and terms. Responsibilities also include working closely with partner agencies to ensure program participants are engaged and receive supported services that include employment/training, housing, mentoring and other wrap around services. Office of Justice Programs (OJP)- General Crime Hotline and Services
The purpose of this request for proposals is to solicit applications for funding to provide a Minnesota statewide toll-free 24-hour general crime victim phone and texting hotline and accompanying crime victim services (Minn. Stat. § 611A.76). The hotline must be answered by trained, skilled professionals, who may include volunteers. Services must be capable of assessing child, adolescent and adult crime victim crisis situations and making appropriate referrals. Hotline staff will provide information, screening, intervention, support and referrals to callers 24-hours per day, seven days per week.
All applications must be submitted via E-grants, the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) online grants management system.
Applications must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on August 30, 2016.
Request for Applications for Minnesota Emerging Entrepreneur Program
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is requesting applications for the Minnesota Emerging Entrepreneur Program. The program provides funding to local nonprofit corporations that will use these funds to make loans to Minnesota businesses majority-owned and operated by minorities, low-income persons, women, veterans, and/or persons with disabilities.
Proposals must be received by DEED no later than 4:00 pm. on September 30, 2016. Late proposals will not be considered.
