TRANE
furnace recall
The U.S. Consumer
Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on TRANE, American
Standard, Ameristar brand and associated unbranded furnaces regarding a ground
wire in the furnace’s junction box that can become loose. If an electrical component then fails and short
circuits, the unit poses a shock hazard. The recalled furnaces include serial
numbers beginning with 16304 through 16324. Auditors and inspectors should be
aware of this recall as they come across these furnaces.
Staff changes at Commerce
We extend our well wishes to Steve Loomis, who has announced
his retirement. Steve’s final day with Commerce will be December 13, 2016. Steve has worked for the state of Minnesota
for nearly 19 years, including 12 years with the Weatherization Assistance
Program where he has worked tirelessly to maintain and improve the WA
software. Through his good work, Steve
has developed relationships with many staff across the statewide WAP network
and will surely be missed. Please join us in thanking Steve for his years of
dedicated service.
Brian Swanson will be leaving Commerce to pursue a job a
little closer to his home and family. Brian’s last day will be December 13,
2016. We thank Brian for his service and
wish him the best in his new pursuit.
