Hello Chanhassen Residents
This week’s update is filled with thanks, appreciation, and pride.
Memorial Day
Please join us at noon on Monday, May 25 for our Memorial Day Ceremony. It will take place at Lake Ann Park's Klingelhutz Pavilion. In partnership with American Legion Post 580, we will spend an hour together honoring the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our amazing country.
Memorial Day is more than a three-day weekend; it is a time to pause and show our deepest respect for those who gave everything to defend our great nation. Taking the time to gather on Monday is a small but important way to ensure their legacy is never forgotten and to demonstrate that we are a community that remembers and honors its heroes.
Our way of life exists because of their profound service and sacrifice—we are forever grateful. I hope to see you there.
Clean Audit
Congratulations to our incredible Finance Department for receiving a clean audit. On Monday, the City Council was presented with the results of the 2025 audit and financial statements.
A clean, unmodified audit report is the highest standard a city can achieve. It is an independent review confirming our city’s exceptional fiscal management. For our community, this means that taxpayer dollars are being tracked with total transparency, efficiency, and accuracy. Thank you to our finance team for their attention to detail and commitment to financial excellence.
Public Works Appreciation Week
On Monday, I read a proclamation designating Public Works Appreciation Week in Chanhassen. Our exceptional Public Works team works tirelessly to serve our community every day.
Maintaining hundreds of miles of infrastructure and multiple facilities is a monumental task, yet their dedication is what keeps our city safe, clean, and running smoothly. We are grateful for their expertise, commitment, and pride in their work. Thank you, PW Team, for keeping Chanhassen thriving.
 Community Center
Thank you, Senator Coleman and Representative Rehm, for securing $2.5 million in bonding for our future Community Center. We appreciate your support and recognition of this important community project. The state funding demonstrates the project’s importance to both Chanhassen and the surrounding region, and the project represents an important long-term investment in community spaces, recreation opportunities and quality of life in Chanhassen.
Thank You
Thank you for your patience as we navigate multiple road projects throughout Chanhassen. While construction can be frustrating, these upgrades are important investments in the future of our city’s infrastructure. To stay informed on progress and closures, please subscribe to updates on our city website.
Wishing you a fun and safe kick-off to summer, and I hope to see you on Monday.
Warmest Regards,
Elise eryan@chanhassenmn.gov
