The Great Pickleball Panic of 2025 is almost over! Crews have been hard at work upgrading the pickleball courts at the Chanhassen Recreation Center and we’re excited to report that the wait is almost over! The new and improved courts are expected to re-open to the public next week and we will notify residents via social media as soon as the nets go up. Those looking for a place to play pickleball during this time can still use the courts over at Roundhouse Park.

Road Construction, How's it Going?
A few months ago, we shared a comprehensive look at this year’s road construction projects. At the City Council’s June 9 work session, Director of Public Works / City Engineer Charlie Howley shared an update on how things were progressing.
Get specific updates on such 2025 projects as: 2025 City Pavement Rehabilitation Project, Galpin Boulevard Improvement Project, Crimson Bay Road and more.
Speaking of road work, here are a few other tidbits that might be of interest to you:
- The parking lot at the Recreation Center, which was closed June 9 and 10 for resurfacing, is now open.
- MnDOT has provided an update on its Highway 212 and Highway 5 improvement project: Drivers should expect periodic lane closures Thursday, June 12, through Friday, June 13, as crews complete erosion control work. Starting June 16, the ramp from Mitchell Road to westbound Hwy 5 will close and remain closed until early July. Then, on June 17, crews will begin resurfacing the shoulders along Hwy 212 and Hwy 5, which will also require lane closures. This work was originally set to begin on June 9 but was rescheduled. In addition, there will be two upcoming weekend closures of Highway 5 between Eden Prairie Road and the Highway 212/Highway 5 split, with traffic detoured using Highway 41 and Highway 212, scheduled for 9 p.m., Friday, July 18, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 21, and 9 p.m. Friday, July 25, to 5 a.m Monday, July 28.
- The Highway 5 Improvements Project team is hosting the Environmental Assessment Public Hearing and Open House Thursday, June 12, at the Chanhassen Recreation Center, from 5-7 p.m. Join Carver County staff to learn more about the Environmental Assessment, provide comments related to the environmental review, and ask questions directly to the project team.
