Your Voting Experience in Precincts 1 and 4: Accessibility and Ease on Election Day
This Election Day, voters who live in Chanhassen's 1st Precinct will vote at the Chanhassen Library (7711 Kerber Boulevard) and voters who live in Chanhassen's 4th Precinct will vote at Chanhassen City Hall (7700 Market Boulevard) in the Senior Center on the lower level.
(Don't know where your polling location is? Click here to find out.)
As Election Day approaches, we want to share some details about what we are doing at both locations to make sure that all voters enjoy a smooth and accessible experience on Election Day.
Here is what you can expect:
Shuttle Service for Your Convenience
With construction underway nearby for the new Chanhassen Civic Campus, we’ve taken proactive steps to make your voting experience easy and accessible at both the Chanhassen Library and the lower level of Chanhassen City Hall.
To help everyone get from the parking lots to the two polling locations with ease, we’ll have two shuttles operating continuously throughout Election Day (polling locations open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.). These shuttles will pick up and drop off interested voters at the following locations:
1. The Chanhassen Library (Precinct 1 voting site) 2. The Senior Center located at the lower level of Chanhassen City Hall (Precinct 4 voting site) 3. Four adjacent parking lots:
-Upper City Hall East -Lower City Hall/Senior Center -Upper City Hall West -Library parking lot
No matter where you’re coming from, these shuttles are here to provide you with a safe, comfortable ride.
Improved Parking Access
If you were to drive by the Chanhassen City Hall today, you would notice that the Upper City Hall West Parking Lot has many cars belonging to the Carver County Sheriff's Office and Chanhassen city employees. You would also notice that the Lower City Hall Parking Lot has many vehicles belonging to construction workers working on the Civic Campus.
None of these vehicles will be there on Election Day. We have instructed construction workers, city staff and the Carver County Sheriff's Office to park elsewhere on Election Day in order to ensure that voters can utilize all available parking spots.
And, as with all precincts, designated accessible parking will be available at each polling site, conveniently located for easy access.
Improved Traffic Flow
To further enhance your visit, the drive aisle on the north side of Chanhassen City Hall (indicated on the above map by the two stacked arrows) was widened to accommodate two-way traffic about a month ago. This change allows for improved automobile movement around City Hall.
This Election Day, we’re making sure that you can focus on what matters most—casting your vote. For more information about the election and voting, please click the button below.
