BARNYARD BOOGIE AT CHANHASSEN RECREATION CENTER

Kick up your heels and dance to Cotton-Eyed Joe, the Chicken Dance, the Barnyard Role Call, and other songs this Friday, September 15, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. This event is specifically for preschoolers and their families. Petting zoo animals, crafts, refreshments, dancing, and a bounce house will all be part of the festivities.

Co-sponsored by the Victoria and Chanhassen Parks and Recreation Departments. The price is $7 per person attending; children under one are free.

FIRE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE SEPTEMBER 25

The Chanhassen Fire Department Open House hosted at the fire station will be on Monday, September 25, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. This annual event allows the community to meet the heroes that help keep them safe.

Watch demonstrations, visit information-packed booths, collect giveaway items, and enjoy the refreshments. Kids can brave the obstacle course for their first taste of being a firefighter.

GUIDED CEMETERY WALK FOR ST.  HUBERT'S & PIONEER CEMETERIES

See Chanhassen history come to life on a guided tour through Chanhassen Pioneer Cemetery and St. Hubert’s Cemetery on September 30. Meet on the plaza in front of historic St. Hubert’s in downtown Chanhassen and board a bus to begin the tour. Guided tours will be held at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A seated performance will be held at the Chanhassen Senior Center at 11:00 a.m.

Registration is recommended as the 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. performances have a limit of 60 participants.

MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE POSITIONS OPEN

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District is seeking applicants for its Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). Applications will be accepted from Minnehaha Creek Watershed District residents through October 16. 

This role is designed to advise and assist the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Board of Managers in their overall goal of having a balanced urban ecology throughout the watershed.

HIGHWAY 5 & 82ND STREET PROJECT - OPEN HOUSE

Carver County and its partners are advancing several projects from the Arboretum Area Transportation Plan. This visioning study identified transportation needs and priorities in the cities of Chaska, Chanhassen, and Victoria.

The open house will be Wednesday, September 27, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It will review the vision and proposals for Highway 5 from Highway 41 in Chanhassen to Downtown Victoria and 82nd Steet from Bavaria Road to Highway 41 in Chaska. The project teams will be available for questions and comments throughout the evening. There will be no formal presentation--feel free to arrive and leave when it is most convenient for you.
