A stormwater treatment and park revitalization project in Golden Valley’s Medley Park will add water storage, help protect infrastructure and homes from flooding, enhance habitat and improve water quality of downstream nutrient-impaired Medicine Lake. The project is supported by a $300,000 Clean Water Fund grant from BWSR.

The Cook County SWCD brought technical expertise and Watershed-Based Implementation Funding to its partnership with the Highway Department. The result, a stormwater project completed in conjunction with a road reconstruction, filters previously untreated runoff bound for Grand Marais Harbor on Lake Superior.
