The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) will award Lawns to Legumes Individual Support cost-share grants to existing applicants during fall 2020. You are receiving this email because you applied for Individual Support cost-share funding in 2019 or 2020 and did not receive funding during the program’s first two application rounds.
You do not need to re-apply to be eligible for fall 2020 grants. If you are no longer interested in being considered for funding, please email us at BWSR.Lawns.Legumes@state.mn.us.
Grant recipients are selected by a randomized lottery system. If you are selected, you will receive an email with further instructions later this fall. If you are notified that you’ve been selected to receive a grant, you will have one year (starting on the date of notification) to plan, plant, and submit a reimbursement request for your pollinator habitat project.
Individual Support cost-share grants provide up to $350 in reimbursement funds for project costs associated with creating new pollinator habitat in your yard. Grant recipients must provide at least a 25% match for their total reimbursement request. This match can be in the form of purchasing materials, hiring contractors or as in-kind time spent planting or maintaining plants (at $25/hr). To increase projects’ success rate, recipients are expected to attend a workshop or view the program’s introductory webinar. Find more information about Lawns to Legumes here.
