News Release: ASWB Exam Candidates Added as “Essential Service Providers” to Examine As Pearson VUE Reopens Test Sites Beginning May 1, 2020
Beginning May 1, 2020, Pearson VUE testing centers in all US and Canadian locations will begin to provide testing in a limited capacity. Effective April 7, 2020 Pearson VUE added Association of Social Work Board (ASWB) candidates to the list of essential workers (including nurses, emergency medical responders and other health care workers) who are allowed to test in a subset of test centers that have been opened on a limited schedule for testing essential service providers.
If you have received notification from the Board of Social Work (BOSW) that you are approved to examine follow through to set an exam date. Availability is first come, first served. ASWB candidates must schedule their appointments as explained in the FAQs about testing for essential services on ASWB’s exam program homepage on the Pearson VUE website.
The BOSW acted on March 20, 2020 to grant a 6-month extension for licensure applications with a close date of December 31, 2020, to allow additional time to test and complete other application requirements, if needed. ASWB, with approval from the BOSW, has extended the ASWB licensing exam registration period for approved candidates until December 31, 2020.
