Arts in the Parks is also proud to announce the first shows of the summer at the Normandale Lake Bandshell. The free concerts are presented by Bloomington Parks and Recreation. This year the shows include everything from Concert Bands to Country Music. All concerts are FREE and open to the public. Don’t forget to bring your blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable seating.

Our Thursday Blockbusters are part of our Evening Performance Series at Normandale Lake. On select Thursdays throughout the summer we will be hosting some of the best entertainment in the Twin Cities as well as food venders to handle your dinner plans. The Thursday Blockbusters are free and open to the public. Therefore, we are proud to announce our first Blockbuster of the summer! BRITISH INVASION NIGHT will occur on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Normandale Lake Bandshell (5901 W. 84th St.). This is a new show to our lineup and we are excited to host the legendary Sleepers playing 60’s British Invasion music. Food will be available from ANCHOR FISH & CHIPS food truck.

Check out our new and exciting outdoor movie series! This year we will be introducing our brand new 30ft outdoor movie screen! Each film offers the public a chance to watch a movie beneath the stars, as well as enjoy some beautiful outdoor scenery by Lake Normandale. We will be featuring the past season’s hit releases! Our first Moonlight Movie of the season will be held on June 14, 2013 starting at 9:00 p.m. at the Normandale Lake Bandshell (5901 W. 84th St.). Escape from Planet Earth: 1hr 29min‎‎ - Rated PG‎‎ - Animation/Action/Adventure/Comedy‎: Astronaut Scorch Supernova finds himself caught in a trap when he responds to an SOS from a notoriously dangerous alien planet.
