Bloomington Citywide Curbside Cleanup 2013 Information

City of Bloomington E-Subscribe Alert

It's time once again to clean up your basement, garage, yard or home during the City's annual Citywide Curbside Cleanup. This is a great opportunity to dispose of bulky wastes and discards that are not routinely collected by weekly hauling services.

This year, the first cleanup Saturday is this weekend (April 13), for residents living east of Portland Avenue.

Bloomington is divided into five collection sections.

  • Saturday, April 13: East of Portland.
  • Saturday, April 20: Portland to Penn.
  • Saturday, April 27: Penn to France.
  • Saturday, May 4: France to Normandale.
  • Saturday, May 11: West of Normandale.

Note: This schedule has changed from a previously posted version because the original schedule conflicted with the Race for the Cure, a large-scale event taking place in May.

Program details

  • Do not put materials out more than two days before your scheduled pick-up.
  • Do not put items in plastic bags.
  • Set your materials at the curb before 7 a.m. on your pickup day.
  • Trucks will go through only once on your scheduled day. If you miss your curbside pickup, please call your regular trash hauler who will pick up your refuse for a fee.
  • Volunteer assistance may be available for seniors or people with disabilities. Call the City's information desk, 952-563-8700, for more information.

Illegal dumping and scavengers

When scavengers cut lines in refrigerators and air conditioners to steal the copper, Freon or Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are released into the air and accelerate the depletion of ozone. Therefore, please do not set out such appliances until the morning of your collection day.

The City of Bloomington Curbside Cleanup is for Bloomington residents ONLY. All materials set out should be from residents living within the city. Excess materials cost you money!

Full details, including what's NOT accepted and options for getting rid of those items, is available on our Curbside Cleanup page.
