Bloomington Farmers Market News
This chilly weather might suggest the end of summer, but you can enjoy its harvests all winter! Now is the perfect time of year to buy produce in bulk and stock your pantry with canned goods. Canned tomatoes, pickles, apple butter, strawberry jam, tomatillo salsa, and winter squash puree are just a few of our favorite ideas. Never tried canning before? The University of Minnesota Extension has a comprehensive resource for preserving food safely to help you get started. They even have information on freezing produce which is great for preserving those leafy greens!
1. Limit household shoppers to one or two members to keep lines short and help us accommodate more households.
2. No customers are allowed in before 8am to ensure accurate attendance counting. If you arrive before market hours, you will have to wait in a line.
3. Peak hours are typically 8am to 9am and 10:30am to 11:30am. It is very likely you will encounter a line during those times.
4. The best time to shop if you do not want to wait in a line is 12pm to 1pm. Harvests are bountiful this season so you don't need to worry about produce selling out!
5. Follow the one-way arrows and use the designated exit so staff can accurately count customers and keep the entrance line moving.
6. Shop efficiently to keep wait times low for others! Make a list before you go and plan your visit using the weekly vendor map.
7. Understand that peak hours and wait times can change week to week. Please stop by the Information Tent if you'd like recommendations on when to visit the market and avoid lines.
8. Remember to keep 6 feet of physical distance between yourself and other customers.
This list is subject to change based on weather and product availability.

Campaigning policy
The farmers market is a great community gathering space! While it may seem like the perfect place to engage active citizens, our Vendor/Exhibitor Requirements state that the Bloomington Farmers Market is not to be used as a venue for political exhibit booths or the handout of leaflets or brochures by political organizations.
