Fare For All

Fare For All

Stop by Creekside Community Center Wednesday, February 15, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. for the Fare For All distribution. 

Open to everyone. This food distribution program can save you up to 40 percent on brand-name groceries. Items include fresh produce, frozen meat and other basic groceries. There are no income guidelines. Cash, credit, debit, and EBT are accepted.


Kite Day 2017

The annual Kite Day celebration will take place Saturday, May 20, 12 - 3 p.m. at Valley View Playfield. 

Community volunteers are needed. Contact Human Services at 952-563-8733, TTY 952-563-8740.


Volunteer Opportunity

Human Services is looking for volunteers to assist with the noon meal program at Creekside Community Center:

City Diner Server

Assist with table setting, serving and clearing dishes served during the noon meal program. Must be able to work as part of a team, stand for 1.5 hours or more and lift at least 20lbs.

Days available: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday
Time Commitment: 2 - 2.5 hours during weekdays, 10:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

B.A.S.E.

BASE CPR

The Bloomington Academy for Safe Elders (B.A.S.E.) program provides resources, safety education, and crime prevention tips to citizens of Bloomington who are 50 and older. Human Services partners with Public Health, Public Works, Bloomington Police, Fire Department, and other organizations to provide expert perspectives on topics such as scams, fire prevention, emergency preparedness, home safety, hands only CPR/AED training, driver safety, and more. This 8-week workshop is offered Wednesdays, April 5 - May 24, 9 - 11:15 a.m. at various City locations. 

Register by Wednesday, March 22. The program is free. Space is limited. Contact Human Services at Creekside Community Center, 952-563-4944, TTY 952-563-4933.
