Bingo with Bloomington's Finest

Join Human Services and the Bloomington Police Department Monday, January 9, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at Creekside Community Center for Bingo with Bloomington's finest.

Lifelong Learning

In partnership with the University of Minnesota, the Human Services Division is excited to offer OLLI lifelong learning courses at Creekside Community Center.

6-sessions each. Mondays, January 23 - March 6 (no class February 20), 12:30 - 2 p.m. Cost: $30. 

  • Coleridge and Wordsworth: Architects of the English Literary Romantic Movement
  • The Joy of Mathematics

Create Your Best Year Ever!

Join Dr. Chris Bargmann during this coffee talk event Wednesday, January 25, 10 a.m. at Creekside Community Center. Dr. Bargmann will share key tips and strategies on staying true to your resolutions and getting rid of any extra holiday weight and stress.

Fare For All

Stop by Creekside Community Center Wednesday, January 18, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. for the January Fare For All distribution. 

There are no qualifications or income restrictions. Fare For All provides packages of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as frozen meat items.


Free Tax Preparation

Human Services partners with Prepare + Prosper and AARP Tax-Aide to make free tax preparation available at Creekside Community Center.

AARP Tax-Aide:
Mondays and Tuesdays
February 6 - April 17, 9 a.m.

Income guidelines:
Middle to low income
Individuals and families

Served on a first-come, first-served basis.

Prepare + Prosper:
Tuesdays and Thursdays
January 24 - April 13, 5:15 p.m. (sign in time)
Saturdays
January 21 - April 15, 8:15 a.m. (sign in time)

Income guidelines:
Individuals - $35,000 or less per year
Families - $55,000 or less per year

Served on a lottery system based on those present at the time of sign in. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to sign in time.

Taxpayers with complex tax returns are advised to seek paid assistance.
