May 12, 2016
For immediate release:

In celebration of National Public Works Week, the City of Bloomington will host an open house for residents on Saturday, May 21, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Bloomington Public Works Building, 1700 W. 98th Street.

This fun, family event will celebrate and demonstrate the essential and quality of life services that Public Works provides to the community year round. The open house will feature snowplow and tractor displays and rides, demonstrations, interactive displays, prizes and refreshments. Kids will receive a passport to collect stamps as they visit stations, then turn in filled passports for a prize.

The Water Treatment Plant, 9300 Poplar Bridge Rd., will also offer a limited number of tours. For reservations, call 952-563-4905, Monday – Friday, between 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Public Works provides safe and efficient transportation routes throughout Bloomington, maintains the City’s streets, parks, vehicles and public facilities, provides snowplowing services, delivers clean drinking water and manages the sanitary sewer system, and reviews the impact construction and development projects will have on local and regional infrastructure.
