Board of State Canvassers to meet July 10 in Lansing
The Board of State Canvassers will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, in the Binsfeld Office Building, 201 Townsend Street in Lansing.
Included on the agenda will be:
- Public Comment.
- Consideration of the meeting minutes for the June 27, 2025 meeting.
- Consideration of the form of the constitutional amendment submitted by Invest in
MI Kids.
- Consideration of the form of the constitutional amendment submitted by Americans
for Citizen Voting - Michigan.
- Consideration of the 100-word summary of the purpose of the constitutional
amendment sponsored by Americans for Citizen Voting - Michigan. The summary as drafted by the Acting Director of Elections is as follows:
- Constitutional amendment to: require Secretary of State verify and track
all voters’ citizenship through a statewide program, individual document submissions, or during provisional voting; remove noncitizens after mailed notice; beginning November 2, 2027, prohibit counting ballots from voters with unverified citizenship unless documents shown to election administrator within 6 days post-election; for new registrations, require proof of citizenship by showing birth certificate, passport, and/or other documents; eliminate affidavit alternative for voters without photo-ID; require photo-ID, or driver’s license or partial social security number to vote absentee; require state-funded hardship program for obtaining required documents; subject violations to $1,000 fine and/or up to 5 years imprisonment.

Attending and speaking at a Board of State Canvassers meeting
The order of the agenda is up to the discretion of the board. Individuals are also encouraged to submit their comments in writing to the board at MDOS-Canvassers@Michigan.gov. The agenda will be posted at least four business days before the board meeting to its website and comments must be submitted no later than 48 hours before the scheduled meeting, or the board cannot consider them.
