What to expect for the 12/11/21 CwB Event

Please read below for some more detailed information to help you prepare for the 1st Coffee with the Birds event of this winter season. Thanks in advance for your patience and support as we continue to develop new ways to execute this event, now both in-person and on livestream.  As you read below I hope you can find a comfortable way to engage with this event.

LIVE IN-PERSON

Feeder Viewing Capacity

There will be a limited number of seats in the WIldlife Den to allow for space and some camera equipment.  Once the room is full, we ask that you use the overflow area in the Great Room.  The event will be on livestream, you'll have a view of feeders at the window and a Naturalist will be available to assist.

MASKS

Per Ottawa County DHH,  masks are recommended, but not required, regardless of vaccination status.  Out of respect for others around you and everyone's comfort (including nature center staff) please follow this recommendation and wear masks while in the Nature Center.

Food & Drink

Food and drink will be served by staff/volunteers using standard precautions.  When in the Wildlife Den, we kindly ask that you only lift your masks to eat/drink.  Otherwise we recommend drinking/eating outside of the Wildlife Den.

Birding Tidbit

The Birding Tidbit this month will be a video of interviews with each of the 5 photo contest winners.  We will show the video on the large screen in the Great Room.

LIVESTREAM ONLINE

Feeder Viewing

Rick Veldman (with Kestrel Imagery & That Others May Know) will be providing livestreaming services during Feeder Viewing Session #1 only (9:30-10:20am).  We will be setting up Friday afternoon and our goal is to run 2 on the bird feeders and one inside the Wildlife Den.  The livestream will look a bit different from last year, but we are hoping we can find a nice hybrid between In-Person and Livestream.

Birding Tidbit

The Birding Tidbit this month will be a video of interviews with each of the 5 photo contest winners.  We will make that available with a link online at the end of the Livestream so that you can watch it at home.

Where's the Link to Watch?

We plan to have the link to the Livestream ready to send out on Friday, so watch your email!  If for some reason you don't get it, just go the CwB Website (linked below) where we'll have it embedded.
