Here's what attendees had to say:

  • Suicidal behaviors and depression were the top two most concerning topics discussed. "Teens overall are more depressed and more likely to think about or complete suicide."
  • The most positive or encouraging information attendees found was substance use is decreasing, there is more family/parent involvement and fewer teens are having sex. "We have a large number of involved and supportive parents in Ottawa County."
  • The YAS results will be used for strategic planning, developing new programs, enhancing existing programs, community presentations, applying for grants and collaborating with other community organizations.
