Important UPDATE: Independent Contractor/Third-Party Employee audit deadline

Michigan Office of Retirement Services - Message for Public School Employers

In light of the extra reporting duties currently required of payroll officials and the new nature of the Independent Contractor/Third-Party Employee audit, the Office of Retirement Services (ORS) is offering a grace period of 30 days to the deadline for this audit.

Effective immediately, the audit response is due by May 1, 2021.

ORS would like to thank the reporting units who have already responded to the Independent Contractor/Third-Party Employee audit request. If your reporting unit has already had an extension approved, your extension date is still being honored by ORS.
