Construction Updates for the week ending 8/22/14

Phase II - 2013 Paving (Fairview Hills)    

Due to weather delays the final course of asphalt is scheduled to be completed prior to Labor Day weekend.  The contractor and the village have also been monitoring the performance of the base course of asphalt and will make the necessary repairs to these sections prior to applying the final course of asphalt.  While we understand the inconvenience of not having the project completed earlier, we are confident that all the trouble areas will be identified and fixed prior to applying the final course of asphalt.  This will lead to the better product in the end.   Notices will be delivered to the neighborhood as soon as a date is selected. Minor drain work near the intersection of First and Canal is being added to the project and will commence after Labor Day. All restoration and punch list items will be complete by the end of September.

2014 Paving (Knight, Duke, Center) 

Knight & Duke street curbs and driveways are completed and paving of the street is to begin next week.

The Friar/Prince intersection has reopened. 

Work on Center Street will not commence until after Labor Day. 

Sewer Lining & Repairs
This work, which is taking place in various locations within the Village, was awarded at the July 21st Village Council meeting and work will begin in late August and be completed by early November.

Huron Road Bridge
Minor punch list items remain but essentially this project is complete and open to traffic.
