The Village of Holly Proudly Welcomes Police Chief, JERRY L. NARSH!
At last month's regular meeting, the Village Council accepted staff’s recommendation and unanimously voted to hire JERRY L. NARSH as the Village of Holly’s new Police Chief.
The hiring process began in late August. 22 applications were received and a selection panel consisting of Village President Tom McKenney, Township Supervisor George Kullis, Fire Chief Steve McGee, and citizen representative Gary Mills narrowed the field to 4 top candidates, of which 2 were recommended for final interviews, conducted by Acting Police Chief Scott Fischer and Village Manager Jerry Walker. Narsh was chosen as the most qualified applicant and selected for employment.
Chief Narsh comes to us from Lake Orion, where he spent 38 years working for the Lake Orion Police Department, having served the last 19 years as Chief of Police. During his career with the department, Chief Narsh implemented several community policing programs and has received many awards. Chief Narsh believes in the power of social media and will be actively posting on the Village of Holly Police Department’s Facebook page soon. The Chamber of Commerce hosted a lovely meet & greet at the Holly Vault last month. Chief Narsh was sworn in and welcomed in front of a large crowd. We are so grateful for the assistance of Acting Police Chief Scott Fischer, and we congratulate him on his retirement!

Holly Youth Theatre presents
DISNEY FROZEN JR.
Auditions: Monday, Jan 6 or Tuesday Jan 7. 6-7 pm for elementary students and 7-8 for middle school and high school students. You do not have to attend both nights, but you are welcome to come twice! There is also an optional $5 audition workshop on Saturday, Jan 4, 10 am to noon for anyone who wants to come feel more comfortable with the songs, dances, and the audition process. To register for the audition workshop, send an email to hollyyouththeatre@gmail.com.
Auditions and the first several weeks of rehearsal will be held in the gym at Holly Naz, 961 E. Holly Rd
Where and when are performances? We will perform on the Holly High School stage Feb 27-March 1 There are 6 performances, 3 for the red cast and 3 for the blue cast (if the show is double cast)
How many people will be cast and what ages? Cast members will be ages 5-18. Everyone who auditions will get a role! All cast members pay a $90 production fee. If more than 40 people audition, we will likely have a double cast. This means 2 separate groups will rehearse, with 2 Elsa's, 2 Anna's, 2 Olaf's, etc.
What does a director look for at auditions? The director evaluates: VOCAL QUALITIES — pitch, placement, articulation and projection MOVEMENT SKILLS — do you experiment with the stage directions when given? CHARACTER — do you embody the character or stand like a stick? IMAGINATION and CREATIVITY — your unique interpretation of language and character EXPRESSIVENESS — is it in your words? your face? your body? HONESTY — are you reacting and speaking as your character would? We look at things like height, age, and hair color to consider what role you might fit into and which of the other people that auditioned might match up with you.
