 Auto/Vehicle Thefts:

650 Stephenson Hwy, 3/25/15, 1:35 pm – 3:30 pm: Complainant advised she parked her 2006 Ford F250 in the lot. When she returned the vehicle was missing. 15-9830

 

500 Kirts Blvd, 3/25/15, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm: Complaint advised she parked her 2003 Chevy Suburban in the lot. When she returned the vehicle was missing. 15-9852

 

Credit, Check, Identity Theft, Other Fraud:

2000 block of Ronald Dr, 3/21/15 – 3/22/15, 1:00pm – 6:00 pm: Complainant advised someone used his social security number to open a line of credit. 15-90

 

2000 block of Radcliffe Dr, 3/23/15, 2:48 pm: Residents reported someone had already filed tax returns in their name. 15-9636

 

2000 block of Harned, 3/21/15, 12:00 pm: Complainant advised they received an unsolicited debit card from T-Mobile that had $8,000 placed on it as a tax return. Complainant advised he hasn’t filed a return yet.15-9634

 

800 block of Randall Dry, 3/18/15, 12:00 pm: Resident reported she received a letter from Navy Federal Credit Union thanking her for applying for an account. Resident reported she never applied to the credit union. 15-9701

 

1000 block of Devonshire, 3/9/15, 12:00 pm: Resident reported that he was notified a fraudulent tax return had been filed in his name. 15-9724

 

2000 block of Greensboro, 3/25/15, 7:00 pm: Resident stated he checked his credit report and found a collection account from Comcast in the amount of $652 to an address in Detroit. 15-9856

 

1000 block of Provincial Dr, 3/24/15, 1:00 pm: Resident reported she attempted to file her tax return with Turbo Tax but was rejected due to her social security number had already been used to file a return. 15-9921

 

6000 block of Emerald Lake Dr, 3/25/15, 2:32 pm: Resident reported she received a collection letter from Credit One stating she owed $978.98. Resident stated she never had this credit card. 15-9949

 

2000 block of Dashwood, 3/19/15, 12:00 pm: Complainant advised someone filed a fraudulent tax return in her name. 15-9961

 

3000 block of Balfour, 3/26/15, 5:20 pm: Complainant advised someone filed a fraudulent tax return in his name. 15-9970

 

6000 block of Annabel Ln, 3/26/15, 12:00 pm: Resident reported she received two letters from PayPal Credit stating she owed $2,445.97 on her account. Resident stated she does not have a PayPal account. 15-10026

 

100 block of Lesdale, 3/27/15, 12:00 pm: Resident advised that the IRS rejected his tax return as a duplicate. Resident stated a fraudulent return had been filed in his name. 15-10059

 

1000 block of Boulan Dr, 3/26/15, 1:00 pm: Complainant advised he received a letter advising him of a request to open a PayPal account in his name. Complainant advised he did not make this request. 15-10064

 

1000 block of Augusta, 3/26/15, 12:00 pm: Resident reported he received a cashier’s check from a bank in California with a letter stating this was part of his tax return. Resident had not yet filed a return. 15-10219                                                             

 

5000 block of Houghten, 3/28/15, 6:22 pm: Complainant stated he bought a vehicle off Craigslist. Complainant advised the odometer and title did not match in mileage. While driving home complainant stated the faceplate on the odometer fell off and appeared to have been tampered with. 15-10246

 

Domestic/Family Trouble:

Troy officers responded to seven incidents involving domestic disputes or family troubles during this reporting period. On-scene investigation of these incidents did not result in evidence of a crime(s) being committed; however, officers were required to take non-enforcement actions to either mediate the situation or keep the peace. Readers should be aware that although these incidents did not result in arrest or prosecution, they do represent significant law enforcement resources in terms of time, on-scene investigation, potential relocation of disputants, referrals to support agencies, peace keeping, as well as detective and prosecutorial review.

 

Drugs/Narcotics:

W Big Beaver Rd & Lakeview, 3/23/15, 3:12 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were found to have marijuana on their persons. The driver, a 22-year-old, and the passenger, a 25-year-old, both from Clinton Twp. were cited for “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.” 15-9597

 

E Maple Rd & Bellingham, 3/24/15, 4:16 pm: Officers stopped a motorcycle with an expired license plate. The driver was found to have a suspended license and no cycle endorsement. Officer located on the driver’s person a pill bottle containing marijuana. The driver, a 23-year-old from Sterling Heights, was arrested for “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED” and “DROVE WITHOUT PROPER ENDORSEMENT.” 15-9741

 

Crooks Rd & W wattles, 3/25/15, 9:23 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle after observing it almost strike a curb. Officers detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 31-year-old from Royal Oak, was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test result were .24%. 15-9865

 

John R Rd & Elliot St, 3/26/15, 10:49 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle with a broken headlight. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to having marijuana and a grinder. The driver, a 17-year-old from Warren, was cited for “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA” and “POSSESSION OF NARCOTIC PARAPHERNALIA.” 15-9997

 

Oakland Mall, 412 W Fourteen Mile Rd, 3/28/15, 11:30 pm: Officers patrolling the lot observed an occupied vehicle. Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver and passenger were found to have marijuana on their person. Under the front seat officers located synthetic narcotics. The driver, a 32-year-old, and the passenger, 22-year-old, both from Flint were arrested for “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA” and “POSSESSION OF SYNTHETIC NARCOTICS.”            15-10207

 

E Long Lake Rd & Livernois, 3/28/15, 10:02 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver and two passengers were all found to have marijuana on their person. The driver, a 17-year-old, and passengers ages 16 and 17, all from Troy were cited for “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.” 15-10270

 

I75 & W Long Lake Rd, 3/28/15, 11:07 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was found to have warrants for his arrest as well as a suspended license. Inside the vehicle officers located pills and marijuana. The driver, a 26-year-old from Davidson, was arrested for “POSSESION OF MARIJUANA,” “DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED,” and “POSSESSION OF HALLUCINOGENS.” 15-10282

 

Drunk/Intoxicated Driving Incidents of Interest:

Bridgetown & Crooks Rd, 3/25/15, 12:22 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officers detected an odor of intoxicants coming from the inside of the vehicle. The driver had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. The driver, a 20-year-old from Troy, failed field sobrieties and was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test results were .10%. 15-9809

 

E Maple Rd & Stephenson Hwy, 3/28/15, 1:06 am: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officers detected an odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed filed sobrieties. The driver, a 29-year-old from Troy, was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test results were .20%. 15-10157

 

Home Invasions:

1000 block of Hartshorn, 3/27/15, 7:15 am – 2:00 pm: Resident reported that the pedestrian garage door had been pried open. Missing from the home was $400 in cash, a roll of quarters and a drug testing kit. 15-61

 

Larcenies:

There were four Larcenies reported during the time period covered in this report:

- purse and contents

- UPS package

- wallet

- gym bag

 

Malicious Destruction of Property:

There were two Malicious Destruction of Property reports filed during the time period covered by this report:

 - four tires slashed

- mailbox damaged

 

Minors and Alcohol:

Bridgetown & Crooks Rd, 3/25/15, 12:22 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officers detected an odor of intoxicants coming from the inside of the vehicle. The driver had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. The driver, a 20-year-old from Troy, failed field sobrieties and was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test results were .10%. 15-9809

 

Other:

Troy officers responded to one hospice death during the time period covered by this report.

 

Phone Calls/Harassment/Threats:

Three harassing or threatening telephone call/text message reports.

 

Retail Fraud:

There were nineteen Retail Frauds reported during the time period covered by this report:

- 1 Retail Fraud 1st Degree (felony) arrest, all merchandise was recovered.

- 10 Retail Fraud 2nd Degree (misdemeanor), suspect fled prior to apprehension.

- 6 Retail Fraud 3rd Degree (misdemeanor) arrest, all merchandise was recovered.

- 2 Retail Fraud 2nd Degree (misdemeanor) arrest, all merchandise was recovered.

 

Welfare Checks:

Troy officers responded to one incident involving a person(s) with emotional or psychological issues and assisted with transport to a hospital for evaluation and possible commitment.
