Troy Police investigate shooting at Rochester and Wattles

 

Troy, MI – At 9:44 pm on July 5, 2021 the Troy Police Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the parking lot of Shell Gas, 3990 Rochester Road. Responding officers arrived and found one male victim who had been injured. Officers and responding paramedics treated injuries on scene and he was transported to a local hospital. No update on his condition is available at this time.

The investigation on the events leading up to the shooting is ongoing. Preliminary information indicates it may be a result of a traffic altercation.

The victim had left his residence in the Rochester Hills area and traveled southbound on Rochester Road He was driving a black Ford Crown Victoria.

A white 2014-2018 Jeep Cherokee follows the victim into the gas station lot and a verbal altercation with the occupants occurred almost immediately. That altercation escalates into a shooting where multiple rounds were fired by an occupant of the white Jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee then left the lot eastbound on Wattles.
