New Troy Police Officers excel during Police Academy
The Troy Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of two department employees to the rank of Police Officer. Officers Joshua Bowers and Michael Grosso were sworn in on Thursday December 14th after graduating from the Macomb Police Academy.
Officer Grosso has been a Police Service Aide working in our dispatch center for the past three years. Officer Grosso gained valuable experience while working in our dispatch center, which will benefit both himself and the department as he begins his road patrol assignment. Officer Grosso is a graduate of Macomb Community College and received the Top Academic Award for his outstanding effort in the Macomb Police Academy.
Officer Bowers has been a Police Service Aide working in our lockup facility for the past year. Officer Bowers is a graduate of Lake Orion High School and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Homeland Security. Officer Bowers served as a Captain in the United States Army, specializing as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer. Officer Bowers finished #2 overall academically and received the MCOLES Outstanding Performance Award for his outstanding effort in the Macomb Police Academy.
