Troy Police Arrest Restaurant Armed Robbery Suspect

 

Troy Police have arrested a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, October 29 at approximately 11:45 PM at the Kona Grill, 30 E. Big Beaver Road.  A restaurant employee called 911 during the incident, stating that the restaurant was being robbed and a shotgun had been fired by the suspect during the robbery.

 

Officers arrived on scene minutes later and arrested Kenneth Travier, a 61 year old Detroit resident, nearby.   Travier was located fleeing the scene on foot and the shotgun was also located.

 

Travier was arraigned this afternoon on charges of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony at 52-4 District Court.  Travier was denied bond.

 

At the time of the robbery, employees were closing down for the night.  An employee was in the back office when a masked man tried to push his way into the office.  The employee fought off the man, sprayed him with pepper spray and was able to get the door closed.  Travier subsequently fired the shotgun through the door.  No employees were injured and no patrons were present.
