The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning
now in effect until noon today. A Wind Chill Advisory in effect from noon today
to 10:00am Wednesday. A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold
air and strong winds will create dangerously low wind chill values. A Wind
Chill Advisory means the wind
chill is low enough that it poses a health threat if adequate protection is not taken against hypothermia
and frostbite.
Dangerously cold conditions will persist this afternoon
and tonight with wind chill values remaining 15 to 30 degrees below zero.
Exposure to such bitterly cold temperatures can cause frostbite in a short period
of time. Prolonged exposure to these cold temperatures may also lead to
hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken.
