A message from Vaccinate Your Family:
Dear Immunization Partners,
Vaccinate Your Family is pleased to share with you our 8th Annual State of the ImmUnion Report.
As you know all too well, 2023 was a challenging year for public health. Exemptions to childhood immunizations reached an all-time high in the U.S., and adult immunization rates continued to struggle, particularly among Black, Latino, and Hispanic adults. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the rate of uninsured children who received no vaccines doubled from three to six percent. People have lost faith in the public health system in the U.S., and some are now choosing to skip vaccines. Unfortunately, the U.S. has lost its focus on vaccine-preventable diseases at a critical moment.
Our 2024 State of the ImmUnion Report presents the ongoing challenges our nation faces and the policies that can increase immunization rates and promote public safety. With your help, we can rebuild a culture of immunization and protect our communities from deadly vaccine-preventable diseases.
We know vaccines are essential to the wellbeing of our nation. As we celebrate 30 years of saving lives through the Vaccines for Children program, it is a perfect moment to reflect on the success of vaccines. We must remain vigilant in ensuring all children receive necessary vaccines, while also building a broader infrastructure that includes access for every person in the U.S.
We thank you for your partnership and look forward to working with you to advance the policies and efforts laid out in this report. We encourage you to share this report with others in your networks as well.
