Vaccine Planning: Update on Pfizer Diluent
Oakland County, Michigan sent this bulletin at 03/05/2024 01:09 PM ESTThis email is being sent to VFC, Non-VFC and Covid-19 Providers in Oakland County, Michigan by the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) Immunization Action Plan (IAP)

Dear Immunization Partners,
The purpose of this message is to let you know that, beginning this week, Pfizer has changed the diluent pack size associated with CDC orders of Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine (2023-2024 Formula) for ages 6 months through 4 years of age [59267-4315-02; COVID-19(Pfizer);(6m-4y);MDV3;10-pk]).
Prior to this week, vaccine orders for this presentation were supplied with diluent in a 10-pack. Beginning this week, Pfizer will supply diluent in a 25-pack. Diluent will be provided in quantities so that providers receive sufficient diluent (and generally more than sufficient diluent) to administer all doses of vaccines ordered. As a reminder, one vial of diluent is required to reconstitute one multidose vial of vaccine for individuals 6 months through 4 years of age.
Below is a table that illustrates the number of diluent vials providers will receive based on order sizes ranging from 30 to 120 doses. For orders larger than 120 doses, additional diluent will be included. Providers should plan to dispose of diluent they receive that they do not use.
If providers have questions about diluent received with Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine (2023-2024 Formula) for ages 6 months through 4 years of age, please contact Pfizer customer service at: 1-800-666-7248, Option 2 or mrnavaccines@pfizer.com.

Thank you,
Oakland County Health Division, Immunization Action Plan
