To All Employees:
We’re so excited that employees are returning to onsite and hybrid work schedules after such a tough year and as you settle in at your offices, we want to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy.
When the Governor lifted all COVID restrictions as of Tuesday, June 22, 2021 and MIOSHA followed suit lifting restrictions for most workplaces, it signaled that we seem to be nearing the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. But we still need to be cautious. We are close but haven’t reached a 70% vaccination rate. We continue to be concerned about the Delta variant which is highly contagious and spreading rapidly and we are still seeing a number of employees testing positive for COVID.
So, for the health and safety of all our employees and the Oakland County residents we serve, we’ll continue to require unvaccinated employees to wear masks when you are unable to maintain social distancing. This will remain in place through the end of June and we will revisit the policy in the early weeks of July.
If you are vaccinated and want to go without a mask, all you have to do is fill out this form that says you’ve been vaccinated and you can give up the mask.
To get to that 70% (and beyond) vaccination rate, Oakland County is launching an incentive, providing $50 gift cards for Oakland County residents, including county employees, to get vaccinated by the Fourth of July. And since we’re thankful for all of our employees who have gotten their shots, we’ll have a gift card for you too.
For those employees who haven’t gotten vaccinated yet, there are plenty of options to get your shots. To see where you can get a vaccine, go to: https://oaklandcountyvaccine.com/appointments. The Health Division is also holding daily vaccine clinics from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at both its North Oakland Health Center in Pontiac and South Oakland Health Center in Southfield.

As always, if you have further questions please contact Julie Fisher at fisherj@oakgov.com and visit the Employee COVID-19 Portal on the Telegraph website for testing and vaccine information.
