Congratulations to Commissioner Joe Sabatini, who was unanimously elected to a four-year term as Board Chair, as well as Commissioner Harold L. Haugh, who was re-elected as Vice Chair and Commissioner Sylvia Grot, who was re-elected as Sergeant-at-Arms! We look forward to your next four years of leadership!
This year's Student Government Day took place on January 23 and was a resounding success! Students from Macomb County high schools took a tour of Commissioners’ offices and the Board Room, participated in a mock board meeting with Commissioners, asked questions, drafted mock proclamations and more. Thank you to all of the students who submitted essays and participated.
The Board of Commissioners would like to extend a congratulations to Megan Morell from Lake Shore High School, the recipient of the $1,000 Student Government Day scholarship! The Board partnered with Advancing Macomb to offer this scholarship and would like to extend the utmost gratitude for their generosity and support of this program.
