Good afternoon,
I’ll begin this message by confirming that - as we expected when we ushered in cooler temperatures - the number of positive COVID-19 cases is on the rise in the nation, our state and right here in Macomb County. Now more than ever, we must be vigilant to keep ourselves and others healthy. Wear a mask when you go out. If you don’t feel well, stay home and get in touch with a health care professional. Continue to practice good hand hygiene, avoid large gatherings of people and please, answer the phone if our Health Department calls about contact tracing. Together, we must help each other get past this.
If you are worried you may have been exposed to the coronavirus, be sure to take advantage of our free drive-thru testing site located at 380 Rose St. in Mount Clemens on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment or symptoms are needed to be tested.
Finally, I’d like to highlight the work of our Office of Senior Services in their successful launch of a Shipt for Seniors program last week. This new initiative offers residents over the age of 60 a free, one-year membership to the grocery delivery service, and the response from our community has been overwhelmingly positive. Know that the county is working to find additional opportunities to support these individuals and keep them safe during these uncertain times. Please get in touch with our office at 586-469-5228 to learn more.
Wishing you wellness,
Mark
Mark A. Hackel Macomb County Executive
