Macomb County COVID-19 Update: June 12, 2020

Macomb County OCE COVID-19 Update

June 12, 2020

Macomb County is here to help as our community begins to recover from COVID-19. For instance, yesterday I announced a plan to distribute $20 million in small business sustainability grants through the Macomb County CARES for Small Business Program, an initiative made possible through federal CARES Act funds. Our goal is to provide direct relief to as many local owners and operators as possible, so if you are interested, I ask that you apply today.

Additionally, the county is now offering free COVID-19 testing for all residents, with no prescription required. By expanding testing we can further slow the spread of the coronavirus and protect the most vulnerable in our area. More information can be found below.

These are just two examples of how the county is responding to this new phase of the COVID-19 crisis. We have flattened the curve and are beginning to reopen, but know that we are still working hard for our residents and that we will remain vigilant to ensure the health and safety of our community. Nothing is more important.

Thank you, and as always, take care and be kind to one another.

Mark A. Hackel
