Local restaurants, diners, coffee shops, wineries and breweries have all been impacted by the COVID crisis. Many have tried to remain open, but I’ve heard from owners and operators how challenging this can be. To help these businesses, our Department of Planning and Economic Development has launched a contest called Macomb is Open. Now through May 31, we are asking our community to enjoy food and/or a beverage from somewhere offering carry-out, curbside or delivery service, take a photo, share it on social media with the hashtag #MacombIsOpen and submit it on our portal. You’ll be entered to win a $50 gift card and the establishment will have the chance to win a $1,000 grant! It’s a simple way to help out local businesses that are struggling right now - and something that can benefit you as well.
If you’re interested in participating, click here to learn more details.
Thank you, and as always, take care.
Mark A. Hackel
Macomb County Executive
