You must complete your registration for the BEAD Benefit of the Bargain round prior to July 21, 2025, at 4 p.m. EDT.
The 40 “BEAD Approved Preregistered Applicants” who completed pre-registration for Michigan’s BEAD Round 1 are already considered registered for the Benefit of the Bargain round.
The Michigan High Speed Internet Office (MIHI) has published an updated application guidance document and sample application to assist registered entities preparing for the Benefit of the Bargain round applications. Applications submitted during BEAD Round 1 must be updated and resubmitted to provide all information necessary for consideration in the Benefit of the Bargain round.
As directed by the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Restructuring Policy Notice released by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on June 6, 2025, MIHI will open the project application period for the Benefit of the Bargain round as soon as possible. MIHI will open the EGrAMS portal for applicants to enter and edit information about their BEAD Project Application(s) at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 21, 2025, EDT.
Job scams trick people into giving away money or personal information by pretending to offer real jobs. Scammers often pose as recruiters from well-known companies and may contact you by email, text or through job sites.
They often send an official-looking email with a job description or invite you to a virtual interview. A job offer may quickly follow with requests for personal details or payment for equipment, but the job is not real.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) offers the following advice to help you spot a job scam:
- Do not respond to emails from recruiters that use personal email addresses instead of a company account.
- Search the company name and the recruiter's name online with words like “scam” or “complaint.”
-
Never pay for training or equipment or follow instructions to deposit a check and return part of the money.
-
Never give out your personal or banking information before being officially hired.
For more information and to report a scam, visit the FTC website.
