Michigan’s Broadband, Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program has recently been revised through a National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) BEAD Restructuring Policy Notice on June 6, 2025. The Michigan High-Speed Internet Office (MIHI) is preparing updated BEAD-eligible location lists and updated guidance for how to register for, and how to submit project applications for, Michigan’s BEAD program in the upcoming Benefit of the Bargain Round.

MIHI anticipates releasing the list of BEAD eligible locations for the benefit of the bargain round during the week of June 30, 2025.
MIHI will host office hours during the Benefit of the Bargain Round on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1-2 p.m. EDT beginning July 2, 2025. There will be no office hour on Friday, July 4. You can join office hours here.
The EGrAMS portal for will be used both for registration and project applications during the Benefit of the Bargain Round.
Entities who fully completed pre-registration during BEAD round one are already considered to be registered for the Benefit of the Bargain Round. Entities who began pre-registration but did not receive notice that they had successfully pre-registered previously during the BEAD program will be able to update their in-progress information to complete registration. Entities that did not begin pre-registration will be able to should plan on registering within EGrAMS.
Registration and Application Dates
Registration and application for the benefit of the bargain round will run concurrently and are anticipated to open in the week of July 7, 2025, and remain open for 14 days.

Tejara Innovation Hub Soft Launch
On June 5, MIHI’s Simone Robinson attended the soft launch of the Tejara Innovation Hub Space in Dearborn. This new space is designed to support innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development throughout the region. The event featured remarks from Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and brought together community leaders and partners committed to building Michigan’s innovation economy. MIHI is proud to support initiatives like Tejara Space that promote greater access to technology and opportunity.
National Juneteenth Digital Opportunity Bible Study
On June 19, Jessica Robinson and Simone Robinson represented MIHI at the National Juneteenth Digital Opportunity Bible Study in Detroit. Hosted by Black Churches 4 Digital Equity, the event focused on digital access and workforce readiness in an AI-driven world. Attendees received hands-on training and learned how to engage with local digital efforts. The event featured messages from local and national leaders including a keynote by Reverend Traci Blackmon.
MIHI remains committed to supporting community-led efforts that close the digital divide and create lasting opportunity for Michigan residents.
