Members of the MIOSHA Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division recently appeared at a trade expo for professionals in the organic agriculture industry.
The second annual Clearwater Farms Expo drew over 300 people and 50 exhibitors during the two-day event at Clearwater Farms in Caro Jan. 18-19.
MIOSHA's Consultation Education and Training Division staff interacted with event vendors, exhibitors, and Tuscola Technology Center students preparing to enter the agricultural workforce. They also promoted MIOSHA’s free Consultation Education and Training (CET) services, which include voluntary on-site consultation visits to farms throughout the year.
Michigan leads the nation in the production of numerous crops, and agriculture contributes more than $104 billion to the state's economy annually, according to the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. To protect farmers in this vital industry from fatal and nonfatal injuries, we want everyone to have the resources they need for a safe work environment.
MIOSHA Fact Sheets provide additional information related to health and safety in the Agricultural industry. The following fact sheets can be found online at michigan.gov/mioshapublications.
