Discussions will surround Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund, Statewide Housing Plan
This week, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) announced it will hold State of Michigan Regional Roadshows in communities across the state aimed at spreading awareness and information on the Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund (HCDF), Statewide Housing Plan and other attainable housing-related discussions and initiatives. The event series began Oct. 11 in Saginaw and concludes Oct. 25 in Marquette.
In addition to MSHDA, the regional roadshows will also feature facilitated discussions with the Office of Rural Development (ORD), State Land Bank Authority (SLBA) and Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), on regional housing initiatives and roles, blight elimination and housing and economic resources.
"The State Land Bank Authority is excited to partner with MSHDA, MEDC and the ORD as we continue to find creative solutions to support attainable housing and build a stronger economy in our state," said Emily Doerr, Executive Director of the SLBA. "We look forward to further promoting our recently announced $21.55 million dollar blight elimination competitive grant program and urging municipalities across Michigan to take advantage of these funds for demolition and/or stabilization of blighted buildings as well as gap financing for environmental remediation projects."
