Winter/Spring Certification/Reimbursement Requests Now Open!
Institutions may begin certifying awards/requesting reimbursements for the Winter/Spring 2025 term/semester now! Institutions may also continue certifying awards/requesting reimbursements for the Fall 2024 term/semester.
Michigan Achievement Scholarship Reminder
Students must have their Fall certification completed in order for Winter/Spring certification to process correctly in MiSSG. Please be sure to complete all Fall certification for Michigan Achievement Scholarship prior to certifying for Winter/Spring.
Winter/Spring Certification/Reimbursement - Deadline, February 18, 2025
The 2nd quarter payment date is scheduled for February 19, 2025. To be included in the 2nd quarter payments, awards must be certified and reimbursements requested by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on February 18, 2025. Only accepted requests that are submitted prior to the payment date will be included in the 2nd quarter payments. Accepted requests that are processed after the 2nd quarter payment date will be included in the 3rd quarter payment.
For institutions submitting requests via file upload, here are some helpful tips:
- Review the MiSSG File Formats.
- Do not delay! You will need time to review your upload results, which may require evaluating any errors and re-uploading your file.
You can review your errors by selecting, ‘The File has been processed but errors were found.’

- You may review the students who were successfully included in the payment request on the ‘Ready to Pay Roster.’
 The following State financial aid programs will be included in the 2nd quarter payment:

- Fostering Futures Scholarship
- Futures for Frontliners
- Futures for Frontliners Path 2
- Michigan Achievement Scholarship
- Michigan Competitive Scholarship
- MI GEAR UP
- Michigan Reconnect Scholarship
- Michigan Reconnect Expansion
- Michigan Tuition Grant
- Police Officer’s and Fire Fighter’s Survivor Tuition Grant
- Tuition Incentive Program
Payments for MI Future Educator Fellowship and MI Future Educator Stipend are processed weekly.
Payments for Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship are processed monthly.
State Programs Procedures Manual Update
Tuition Incentive Program TIP Phase 1 and Pell Reporting
Public Act. 120 of 2024 requires institutions to report to the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) the number of students who ever received a Pell Grant or TIP award and successfully earned a degree or certificate in the most recently completed academic year.
The State Programs Procedures Manual has been updated to reflect this requirement with additional details.
Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Update
The Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Program Limits has been updated to read:
Undergraduate students may receive scholarship assistance for up to four academic years which is counted as eight semesters (does not have to be consecutive), or a total of up to $11,200; or they have reached age 26 (whichever comes first).
The State Programs Procedures Manual has been updated to reflect this change.
