The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) is currently making changes to the Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers, R 400.8101 through R 400.8840. As part of this process, an advisory ad hoc committee of child care providers and families is collecting public input to inform the recommendations submitted on the draft ruleset.

We invite members of the public to attend two upcoming public comment meetings. If you would like to provide comment to the advisory committee, please email Chanti Cole at ColeC5@michigan.gov with your name, organization you are representing if applicable, and any special accommodations that may be necessary for you to participate.
Individuals who do not indicate in advance that they wish to speak will be added if time permits. Written comments can also be submitted for the committee’s consideration by emailing Chanti Cole at ColeC5@michigan.gov with the subject line “Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers Ad Hoc Comments”.
Additional opportunities for public comment will be provided pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act.
