Message from

Mayor Hubert Yopp

Dear Neighbors and Friends,

I would like to welcome you to our very first Highland Park Community Newsletter. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Mayor of the City of Highland Park. I am committed to maintaining our small town charm by ensuring the safety and integrity of our neighborhoods through our block clubs, the quality of our services, and the vitality of our businesses. A great deal of work continues to be done by many people toward that intention.

Highland Park has been fortunate. The city maintains its independent financial position due to strong leadership, prudent financial planning, good decision-making, and an incredibly dedicated staff. The staff at City Hall is professional, skillful, and committed to delivering quality work. They are capable of rising to any challenge and proceeding steadfastly to deliver the quality services to which we have become accustomed.

Proactive measures must be taken in order to reach our goals and shape our own destiny. I remain committed to working with the dedicated staff, city officials, residents and business leaders to maintain and enhance the services and programs that we so proudly offer.

We need to embrace new initiatives and continually identify new opportunities to remain economically competitive while preserving the quality of life valued by our residents. With the help and support of all of you, we will continue to work towards being a “Vibrant Community” and returning this city back to excellence.

On behalf of city officials, administration and staff, I thank you for your continued support as we strive to provide services that will carry us into the future. As always, my door remains open and I welcome you to share your ideas and concerns with me.

Very truly yours,

Mayor Hubert Yopp
