WB I-696 in Macomb County is reopening today (Saturday, 01/05/19).
Favorable weather conditions have allowed us to complete the work required to safely reopen WB I-696 from I-94 to I-75 earlier than expected.
Throughout this morning, crews will close two lanes on EB and WB I-94 near I-696 to make the changes necessary to reopen the ramps from I-94 to WB I-696.
By this evening, it's expected that drivers will be able to use WB I-696, with all exit ramps open.
Later tonight, all entrance ramps will be open, except Mound Rd to WB I-696.
Tomorrow, (Sunday., 01/06/19), the SB Mound ramp to WB I-696 is expected to reopen. The NB Mound ramp to WB I-696 and the Hoover ramp to EB I-696 are expected to reopen next week.
