The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer Licensed Specialist, located in Saginaw, Michigan.

This position is a key component of the Huron Transportation Service Center (TSC), where various professional and technical staff need to coordinate together from various locations to maintain coverage and customer service for the transportation needs for Huron, Sanilac, St. Clair and Tuscola Counties.  The key to the success of the department's business practices is the effective delivery of transportation programs and projects.  The TSC's are directly responsible for delivery of the programs and projects in their area.  The Cost and Scheduling Engineer's primary role is being the project manager for all projects in the Huron TSC area, including working with remote TSC staff, Region staff, elsewhere in MDOT staff, and/or consultants.  Another key function is administering consultant contracts.  The responsibility of managing the development of all projects in of itself is highly complex.  Some projects independently are highly complex.  The Cost and Scheduling Engineer monitors the cost, scope and schedule for the multi-year set of projects assigned.  This position includes extensive coordination with the Region and Statewide project development functions.  This position serves as the lead expert in design for the TSC.  This position will assist the Region Planner and TSC Manager in all tasks associated with the planning groups in the TSC area.  This position also maintains project records and communicates relevant project information to all stakeholders, as appropriate.

Possession of a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering or in civil and environmental engineering.
