The Michigan Department of Corrections is committed to providing our employees with up-to-date information as it relates to our efforts in dealing with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In July, FOA Metropolitan Territory Assistant Deputy Director Beverly Smith presented Southwest Probation Agent Brooke LaBine with a Good Government Coins of Excellence for her work in assisting persons under her supervision attain and retain employment resulting in an employment rate over 90% for several months. ADD Smith acknowledged their remarkable work in these challenging times. In an effort to increase employment outcomes and success amongst her probationers, PPO LaBine stated that she sends employment opportunities received from the Workforce Development Unit weekly to her unemployed and underemployed probationers. She added that employment is one of the first areas she discusses during orientation to get them motivated towards success right away.
We join Operations Administrator Latrece Porter, Region Manager Janella Robinson, Supervisor Dawn McGlue and Supervisor Kenyatta David in congratulating Agent LaBine for her achievement.
