 The Michigan Department of Corrections is committed to providing our employees with up-to-date information as it relates to our efforts in dealing with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
 Saginaw Correctional Facility Warden Gary Miniard presented service pins to two devoted MDOC employees back in March. OPMHT Unit Chief Angela Girard received her 10 Year Service Pin and Business Office Technician Audrey Karnes received her 20 Year Service Pin. We join Warden Miniard in congratulating Girard and Karnes and thanking them for their years of service.
On Sunday, May 2, 2021, from 5:00 am, et. until 1:00 pm, et. maintenance is being performed on the OMNI and OMS servers. The maintenance will delay certain information flowing between OMNI and OMS. This, in turn, will delay information flowing into COMS such as the following:
- Cell Movements
- Detainers
- Emergency Contacts
- Legal Orders, Charges, and Sentences
- Misconducts
- Movements
- Offender Names and Demographic Information
- Parole Orders
Normal functionality will resume after the maintenance is completed and delayed data is processed.
As of April 30, 19,416 MDOC prisoners have received either both doses of the Moderna vaccine or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine and have completed their COVID-19 vaccine series.
More than 600 additional prisoners are currently partially vaccinated following their first dose of the Moderna vaccine.
As of April 30, the State of Michigan had administered 6,914,699 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccines. To view the total distribution of vaccines and more vaccine information, visit michigan.gov/covidvaccine.

 On May 1, Michigan health officials reported 3,431 new cases and 131 deaths from COVID-19. This brings the states total number of cases to 844,385 and 17,742 total deaths.
It is important for everyone to remain vigilant and continue to take steps to help break the chain of infection and slow the spread, both while at work and while in the community.

On May 1, there were 12 new positive prisoner cases to report.
