Enjoy winter in Michigan by joining a volunteer stewardship workday!


Yankee Springs Recreation Area: Saturday, Jan. 24, 10 a.m. - noon

Meet at the winter sports parking area just west of Hall Lake.

Meeting location: 42.613293, -85.487558

Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive species around Hall Lake! Join us on a beautiful hike and help reclaim the native habitat that makes this area thrive. Volunteers will learn to identify invasive shrubs before cutting them down. All equipment will be provided.

Long pants, long shirts and closed-toed shoes are highly recommended.


Muskegon State Park: Sunday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m. - noon

Meet at the gated entrance to the channel campground, near the campground registration building (south end of the park).

Join our efforts to help keep our beautiful dunes free of invasive species! We will be working near the Channel Campground entrance, controlling woody invasive species to protect our open dune ecosystem. All tools and equipment will be provided.

 Long pants, long shirts and closed-toed shoes are highly recommended.

What to wear

Wear appropriate gear for working outdoors, including long pants and closed-toe shoes.

What to bring

Drinking water, work/gardening gloves, insect repellent and safety glasses (if needed).

Youth and groups

Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please notify us of groups of more than five people.
