Lake Huron joint management plan released

A binational plan to manage the protection and restoration of Lake Huron was released by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency April 6. The plan was developed by members of the Lake Huron Partnership, a group of environmental and natural resource experts from federal, state, and tribal agencies.

Lake Huron, the second largest Great Lake by surface area, faces challenges from invasive species, pollutants, the effects of changing climate, and loss of fish and wildlife habitat. Actions to ensure the health of Lake Huron are identified in the management plan.
