Invitation to Attend the DEPR Integrated Preparedness Workshop

The Bureau of Emergency Preparedness, EMS, and Systems of Care (BEPESoC), Division of Emergency Preparedness and Response (DEPR) invites you to attend the virtual Integrated Preparedness Planning Workshop (IPPW) on October 6, 2025.
The meeting will be held on Microsoft Teams from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

An IPPW provides the opportunity to collaboratively review preparedness priorities and update the Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP). Through coordinated planning, we can:

• Prevent duplication of effort.
• Ensure resources are used efficiently.
• Maximize the impact of preparedness activities.

This workshop is the first in a series of IPPWs. It will introduce the DEPR IPPW process, clarify roles and responsibilities, and present tools to support participants in preparing for the subsequent workshop where agencies and organizations will share priorities and coordinate IPPs.

Workshop Goals:

• Provide an overview of the DEPR IPP and IPPW program management process.
• Share best practices in IPP and MYTEP development.
• Introduce the development timeline and deliverables necessary for participation in future IPPWs.
• Review IPP/Multiyear Training and Exercise Plan (MYTEP) resources and templates
• Engage participants in Q&A

IMATS Drill for BP2

A final reminder that the first IMATS Drill for Budget Period 2 (BP2) will be held September 15-19, 2025. The instructions for the drill are on the link below. This drill will be focused on reviewing and updating the facilities and roles in IMATS. We are asking EPCs to update both the IMATS site and the IMATS training site.

Please let Jeannie Byrne know if you do not have an IMATS and IMATS Train accounts in SAMS or are unable to currently get into your account.

If you are unable to complete this drill during this time frame, please let the IMATS team know as soon as possible.

SNS Request Process & the mirequest.org Share Point Site

Following the announcement of the discontinuation of the mirequest.org Share Point site, DEPR has received a number of questions related to the process of requesting assets from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS). DEPR has created a one-page document explaining this process along with a flow chart.

Save the Dates: Michigan Volunteer Registry System Platform Update

The Go Live date for the new Michigan Volunteer Registry is Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

MVR administrators are required to attend both if the following training sessions to review the new platform:

1. Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. which will cover Registration, Home screen, Accounts, Groups, Notifications, and File Library.
2. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. which will cover Organizations, Credentialing, Background Checks, Missions, Time Tracking, and Reports (Notifications refresher if time allows).

These training sessions will replace both the MVR administrator Training on August 6, and the Volunteer Management training on September 24.

New Resources from the SNS

The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) is pleased to announce the release of the SNS Planning, Resource, and Operations (PRO) Guide modules, Risk Communications and SNS Formulary. This guide is intended to serve as a critical resource for partners across public health, governmental health agencies, emergency management, health care, and the medical supply chain.

The Risk Communications and SNS Formulary modules of the SNS PRO Guide are now available to access on the SNS Technical Assistance and Resources SharePoint site at the following location: SNS Planning, Resource, and Operations (PRO) Guide. Together with the SNS Digital Information Toolkit Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Digital Information Toolkit, the SNS PRO Guide constitutes a robust suite of resources to support your jurisdiction’s emergency preparedness and response planning efforts.

Canceled - Open Training Hours for MISNS SharePoint

Due to the discontinuation of the MISNS SharePoint site for ongoing SNS requests, the August 27 and October 22 open training hours have been canceled. DEPR is looking for an alternative solution and when that becomes available, the open training hours will be rescheduled.

NACCHO Webinar Recap: Enhancing Public Health Preparedness for Chemical and Radiological Emergencies

On September 2, the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) published a recap of its August 27 webinar: “Enhancing Public Health Preparedness for Chemical and Radiological Emergencies.” This recap includes links to resources to help turn plans into practice.

Michigan Cyber Civilian Corps

Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget’s Michigan Cyber Civilian Corps (MICyberCorps) is a group of trained technical experts who volunteer to provide rapid response assistance to all levels of government, education, and business organizations in the State of Michigan in the event of a cyber incident. MICyberCorps participates in investigating criminal aspects of network intrusion for cyber incidents involving Michigan business and public entities, including those related to ransomware, phishing, business email compromises, and malicious insiders. In addition, MICyberCorps also provides cybersecurity education and information to the public and is looking for cyber savvy individuals to join their group too! Michigan businesses and organizations can request MICyberCorps assistance during a cyberattack by first contacting the Michigan State Police Cyber Command Center at 1-877-642-9237 or MC3@michigan.gov.
