Please plan to join the PHEP Team for the monthly PHEP Partner Meeting on Teams on August 14 at 1:30 p.m. Below is the agenda for the meeting.
The Michigan Volunteer Registry (MVR) is scheduled to migrate to the new Juvare platform on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Prior to migration, Juvare will host two 2-hour virtual training sessions on September 10, 2025, and September 24, 2025. MVR administrators are required to attend one of these sessions. These training sessions will replace both the MVR administrator Training on August 6, and the Volunteer Management training on September 24. MVR admins should receive the invites for these trainings by Friday, August 15.
Messages sent by administrators through the MVR are not being migrated to the new platform; please ensure you retain a copy of any important sent messages. Although message templates and groups are being migrated, we suggest you retain a copy of both as a backup. If you find that you no longer use a group, please take the time to delete it. Future correspondence will be coming to your inbox for important updates.
If you have any questions, please contact Elizabeth Shepard or Stephanie Steele.
We are pleased to announce that open training hours will be available Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM via Microsoft Teams. These sessions are designed to provide flexible, drop-in support to ask questions and get hands-on guidance. No registration required! More sessions to follow. If you cannot make one of these dates, please reach out to the MCM team MDHHS-BEPESOC-MCM@michigan.gov to schedule separately.
Join us every 4th Tuesday of the month at noon to learn more about various preparedness and response topics and programs.
On August 26, the topic will be the Region V Public Health Training Center (RVPHTC). This session will provide an overview of the RVPHTC. The center seeks to advance the skills of the current and future public health workforce to improve population health outcomes.
In a letter dated July 24, 2025, Steven A. Adams, MPH, Deputy Assistant Secretary Center for the Strategic National Stockpile stated:
We have conducted a thorough analysis of all SNS medical supplies and equipment to evaluate current needs and identify outdated materiel and product configurations. This review revealed that some supplies have not been deployed in years and are no longer included in state and local emergency plans. Based on this review, the SNS is retiring two products:
-
-
12-Hour Push Package: Originally designed to rapidly deploy a broad-spectrum of supplies when a threat was unknown or ill-defined, this approach is no longer necessary given enhanced threat assessment capabilities.
-
Federal Medical Stations: These stations have not been deployed in more than five years and are not critical to response plans for SNS core mission areas.
The letter is attached below for the full annoucement.
