The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is offering the L0449 Incident Command System (ICS) Curricula Train-the-Trainer course, July 21-25, 2025, in Plainfield, IN. Several seats are currently available and an invitation has been extend to Region 5 partners to attend this course. Students would need to obtain a Public Safety Identification number (PSID) through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to register on the Indiana state training system. Registration with TEEX would be required. All costs are the responsibility of the sending agency.
Prerequisites for this course (Must be current as of 2019 or newer):
- IS 100, 200, 700, 800
- G-191
- ICS 300, 400
- Formal instructor training such National Wildland Coordinating Group Facilitative Instructor, EMI Master Trainer Program, Fire Instructor I&2, ASTD, CTTI, POST, FLETC, college, E0141, Instructional Presentation and Evaluation Skills, Office for Domestic Preparedness Instructor Course, valid teaching certificate, or equivalent.
- If you can prove you teach a college class, that will work too
- Proof of Instructor Experience (i.e.. Letter listing your operational experience.)
- You can use a letter signed by your leadership on letterhead with your experience
You will have to upload your prerequisites to both Indiana’s and the TEEX system.
How do I obtain a Public Safety Identification number (PSID)?
- Step 1: Go to https://indiana.acadisonline.com/acadisviewer/login.aspx
- Step 2: Scroll down and click “New PSID Request” (About halfway down the page)
- Step 3: Click “PSID Application”
- Step 4: Click “Apply for a PSID”
- Step 5: Provide necessary information and submit your application.
- Step 6: If you do not receive an email at the address you provided in this application within 7 days, please email psidquestions@dhs.in.gov

The Awareness Level course is intended for anyone who will come into professional contact with disaster victims, including DMAT, hospital workers, EMTs, primary care providers and public health workers. There are three sections in this course:
- Section 1: Disaster, Trauma and Proximity to the Event
- Section 2: Psychophysiology of Trauma and Fear
- Section 3: Tools for Understanding
The Technical Level course is intended for anyone who will come into professional contact with disaster victims, including DMAT, hospital workers, EMTs, primary care providers and public health workers. In addition to providing general knowledge, this course emphasizes two practical skills: administering psychological first aid to disaster victims in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, and screening disaster victims for common mental health disorders in the months that follow.

Course Date: July 21-22, 2025 Location: Leona Training Center, 2123 University Park Dr, Suite 150, Okemos, MI 48864 Target Audience: State, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) public health agencies; Federal and SLTT emergency management agencies; SLTT mental health agencies; Community and private sector organizations with a role in response to public health emergencies; and Academia.
The course focuses on developing and strengthening agency, community, and private sector partnerships and coalitions to support whole community sustainable solutions.
Course Date: September 17-18, 2025 Course Time: 8am-5pm Location: North County Training Room (4191 17 Mile Road)
Kent County Health Department is hosting TEEX MGT-319, Point of Dispensing, Planning and Response. This course is a guide for local health officials and their partners to coordinate plans to provide mass distribution of medical countermeasures in response to a large-scale public health incident. This course focuses on planning considerations, recommendation to achieve the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) 48-hour standard for Mass Prophylaxis, and the local community’s Mass Prophylaxis and Point of Dispensing (POD) site preparedness. The course material is applicable to pandemic influenza, bio-terrorism, and other public health emergencies.
