The Saginaw County Health Department has developed two resources for working with 2-1-1 call centers:
211 and LHD Roles and Responsibilities: This document is something that local health departments can use as a stand-alone document that defines roles and responsibilities, or as a starting point to create a memorandum of understanding with their respective 2-1-1 regional call center. At the present time, memoranda of understandings are optional.
Utilization of 211 During Public Health Emergencies: This document may look similar; however, this is a template that contains language that local health departments can include in their emergency response plans (specifically CERC plans) to describe the process of utilizing 2-1-1 during a public health emergency. This example was customized for Saginaw County Health Department and 2-1-1 NE Michigan. For those local health departments in the 2-1-1 NE Michigan area, the NE Michigan 2-1-1 Director assisted with the development of these documents and has approved them for use in her coverage area.
Chad Veeser, Emergency Management Officer for Michigan 2-1-1, has approved these documents and will be sharing these documents across his network as well.
If you have any questions, contact Cari Hillman at Saginaw County Health Department.
